Wedding Hair and Makeup

We've been to two bridal fairs earlier this year, and aside from photographers and videographers, I always linger around the booths of hair and make-up artists (HMUAs).

Their rates vary depending on the technique they're going to use. Rates range from a good Php6000 to an unbelievable Php30000, add to that a minimum of Php3000-5000 for out-of-town fees. I know someone who charges Php50000 for a wedding-but he's a celebrity MUA.

Of course, in my own wedding, I'm a celebrity in my own right. I really, really want to look and feel beautiful. I want to be able to look at the mirror and say to my reflection "WOW, YOU'RE GORGEOUS."

I  know how to do my own make-up, and I'm seriously considering if I should do mine.

I brought the topic up one time with Gary:

Me: Ako na lang mag-makeup sa self ko.
Gary: Sige, kaya mo naman yun.
Me: Bigyan mo na lang ako mga 7k to 10k bibili akong make-up, magpapaturo na lang ako sa pagbibilhan ko.
Gary: Ang mahal naman.
Me: Syempre di naman yun Ever Bilena. Saka mas mahal yung out-of-town fee e. Mamaya di ko pa gusto yun. Ganun din.
Gary: Sige, pagisipan natin. Saka di mo naman kelangan maraming make-up.
Me: Bakit, kasi maganda na ko?
Gary: Kasi beach wedding yun e.

I showed Mommy some brochures we got from bridal fairs:

Me: Ma, tingin mo kaya ko ba gawin to? *pointing at a close-up shot of a model bride*
Mommy: Oo madali lang naman yan, ganyan naman ginagawa mo e.
Me: Kaso di kaya ma-haggard ako?
Mommy: Baka kasi ulitin mo lang pag di mo nagustuhan yung ginawa sayo e.
Me: *Staring at the brochure, talking to self* Ano ba di ko kaya gawin dito?
Mommy: Bumili ka na lang ng make-up na pang high definition, diba ganun ginagamit sa wedding.
Me: Oonga e. Sige.

I'm 70% sure that I'll do my own make-up, but what about my hair???

I sometimes browse Pinterest to look at Hairstyles. For a beach wedding, I'm thinking loose flowing curls, mermaid hair, and braids. I  absolutely love braids. I've seen Daven Mayeda's videos on Youtube, and I'm actually learning a lot. My favorite line is, "You gotta have good exit hair. It's all about the exit hair." It's from this tutorial:

I believe in exit hair. Syempre dapat maganda yung likod mo! But you still got to have a good entrance hair.

I'll update this as soon as I'm 100% decided. :)
