25 days to go

I confess, I'm a procrastinator. It started in high school when I noticed I can do so much in so little time. It developed into a habit that eventually became useful in college. I'm a great crammer. In fact, on my fifth year, I crammed 24 units (normal number of units is 18) in one semester! By faith, I was able to pass and graduate on time! But, what may work for me, may not work for others. I knew some people who need several weeks to study before an exam (I only need 18 hours), three days to finish a paper (I can finish mine in a day), and an hour to finish an exam (my record was 10 minutes).

But, weddings are different! They entail a lot of careful planning, legwork, documents. We've been engaged for 11 months now, and I must say that Gary and I were slackers. We haven't distributed our invitations yet, haven't finalized our guest list, haven't found a supplier for entourage boutonnieres, haven't finished our ceremony and reception programs. This list is not even complete yet! See, I haven't even made a list! I woke up this morning feeling anxious and worried. I ask myself, "Y U NO PREPARE EARLIER?"

I refuse to look at my calendar these past few days because I don't want to be reminded that the big event is near! *Cue dun-dun-dun-dun* Then, when I looked at my phone, OH GOD, WHY?! It's March 13, and we've missed our 30-day countdown. Gaaah. 

I sent my fiance a text message, "Hala, onting araw na lang."

All he said was "Kaya yan."

That's when I calmed down. Okay. If he thinks we can do it, then we can do it. He has been supportive of me (my mom keeps on saying that Gary is a different groom who's very hands-on) since Day 1, and he knows we can do it. I'm so lucky to marry this person. Drama lang! He makes me stay calm and logical, he helps me work with grace under pressure. He tolerates my procrastinating tendencies, yet stays firm with our task timeline.

Supplier Updates 2

Months ago, I made a similar post for our supplier updates. A lot of our suppliers changed!

I'm sharing with you our dream team. The people who we hope will make our dream wedding a reality.

Venue: Rosemont Gardens, Tagaytay
(Backread my posts and you will see photos of the place. We decided on a Tagaytay wedding as a compromise between the two of us. It turned out as one of the best compromises we made.)

(Amazing photographer! We love our prenup shots. This January/February, we are scheduled for another prenup.)

Videographer: Kier of Photo MNL
(I met Kier months ago and I loved talking to him. Excited to shoot our prenup videos. Super fresh ng gawa niya, and mukhang mahal!!! At par with sikat videographers, promise. This guy has a lot of potential I tell you. Check out his vimeo: Kier Bulseco)

Caterer: Purpledish
(Our favorite supplier so far! Sobrang spoiled lahat ng PD brides, madali kausap. We hope makadeliver as expected since malaki rin ang promise sa wedding industry :) Got a 30% off sa package namin )

Stylist/florist: Gideon Hermosa
(Our package with PD ay kasama ang basic ni Gids. But we plan to upgrade sana our background and yung flowers - kung makakahanap ng sponsor! Pag-iipunan pa but I'm deadset on having him kahit sa flowers ko lang)

Gown: I asked a friend a favor to make my gown! Yehey!
(Had my first fitting last December 15. I cannot post pics sabi nya! Pero kebs! I'm so excited for my gown, 2nd fitting this January 20.)

(Pia Rebucas-Tolentino had her Save the Date artwork made by her and a lot of w@wies loved the work, so I asked for the number as well. She made an Alice in Wonderland inspired border/bground. Super cheap lang ng paggawa ko! Demanding much bride. Fast and easy transaction, pero finafinalize pa namin the colors. )

Honeymoon: Hongkong!!!
When Gary went to Germany to study, naghanap ako ng mga deals online. I saw a seat sale sa Air Asia. We only paid 6400 for roundtrip tickets to Hongkong! I know there are cheaper deals than this pero April is vacation month and late na rin kami naka-book. First out-of-town trip as a couple.

LDR drama

Dear Labs,

It has been a month since you left. I know you'll ask kumusta na ba ko. Good news: I'm fine and dandy. I'm super excited kasi 5 months na lang wedding na natin.

Kaso, ang hirap ng long distance relationship.

You said I can do this. That two months is just a short period of time. You're wrong. I feel my throat hurt right this very moment while I am typing this. I can't hold back my tears.

With you gone, nobody laughs at my jokes. I have a weird sense of humor that only the two of us understand. Our inside jokes and our secret codes. I miss the way your eyes twinkle when you laugh with me. Or at me. When I'm being stupid, or when I lose an argument with you.

Nobody takes me out on a date. Good thing is, I've met and reconnected with friends. I met my designer, I met our videographer, I met my future bridesmaids, I even slept over at a friend's house. I bonded with my barkada, and realized why high school friends are forever. My friend said, "Buti na lang si Gary nakatuluyan mo. Sya lang nakakabara sayo e." And she was right. That made me miss you even more. I miss our dates and how you always pay for them. I miss the way you try to be a food critic at every resto we visit. 

I miss being with you. I miss sitting with you. I miss riding in your car. I miss holding hands with you. I can ramble on and on on how much I miss you, but that won't change the fact that you're there, and I'm here, approximately 10,000 kilometers away from you. It's killing me. :[
